WEBSITE Reviews

Overview
Web site reviews of Helicopter sites, usually with Robinson R22 related pages within their content. Sometimes however, we find good technical content on other sites relating to aerodynamics or Helicopter operation which can still be very informative to the reader.

If you have a web site that you would like us to review, send us an email and we will review your web site in due course.

Burman Aviation

  • Charter
Burman Aviation Group offer charter facilities from their Operations Base at Cranfield in Bedfordshire, as well as Cambridge, Gloucester and Newcastle.
Their fleet includes Bell Jet Rangers, Twin Squirrels and Robinson R22's.

  • Training
A range of trial lessons are on offer to wet the appetite, as well as providing Private Pilots License(Helicopters) training and Assistant Flying instructor training. AFI(H) There is also an excellent section about the requirements for the PPL(H) and they offer a Robinson Safety Course too.
  • Sales
This section can best be described as 'vague' although it has to be said that there is an "Under Construction" sign present. I look forward to reviwing this again in the future.
  • Engineering
CAA and JAR approved service centre for the Robinson R22 and R44, Bell 47 and 206 and Agusta aircraft . Based at Cranfield Airport, running 7 days a week and 24 hours a day, sounds quite impressive.
Of particular interest, they have a Robinson R22 Service Centre. For the Robinson aircraft, they offer surveys, servicing, overhauls, refurbishing and modification. They have completed fifteen overhauls on R22s over the last four years. (As at 22/09/1999)

  • Other Comments
A well laid out site, easy to navigate and good content.

  • R44 Website
The R44 Helicopter Flyer web site is identical in content to this website but with an obvious leaning towards the Robinson R44 Helicopter.

You can visit it here - http://www.r44.flyer.co.uk/
